M'sian lipstick maker happy his products are coming home

KOTA KINABALU: Christmas is a season of thanksgiving and joy, and for Sabah-born Jameson Juwily, a lipstick maker based in the United Kingdom, this year's Yuletide is a bit more special.
"This year, I managed to expand my business, get more investors and customers to know about my products – MYJ Beauty London," said the 38-year-old from Tuaran.

I have so much to be thankful for, but this year, it seems everything is going just as planned," he said.

Juwily said since launching his first lipstick product in 2011, he had produced dozens more and in the last couple of years, had expanded his products for the first time to Malaysia.
His latest products – the Ultimate Lip Care trio of lip scrub, lip mask and lip balms – were launched in the United Kingdom in October.
"During this launch, I was blessed to see two powerful UK organisations come and support me. The CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) and The Eve appeal," he said.

CEW is a non-profit organisation with more than 1,000 members in the UK, from the beauty industry and other related fields. The Eve Appeal is a charity organisation that funds research for gynaecological cancer.

"By working with these two powerhouses, I am hoping to be able to bring Malaysia's name higher in the world," Juwily said.

He explained that with Eve Appeal, he pledge to channel a portion of the profits made from his cosmetic sales to charity.

"It's only right that we give back and let the circle continue," he said.

Juwily left his hometown and moved to the United Kingdom in 2000.
